In 1990, I was just out of high school and working for a glass company in Malibu, California. I had an opportunity to move to San Diego and partner with another North County San Diego glass company. I went to contractor's school to learn the legal aspects of the glazing industry, as I had already learned the trade, and received my Glazing Contractors License in 1993. I always loved working the trade and felt like I had found a niche. I'm not sure, unless it's a family business, that anyone starts out saying they want to be in the window business. At one time I wanted to be an aircraft pilot, but I also wanted to own a business, so I guess you could say I was always looking to the future.
The replacement window business as a whole is not the kinder, gentler business that I have now. The replacement window industry, as well as other remodeling industries has gotten a bad rap from high-pressure sales, long drawn out presentations, hiring telemarketers to schedule appointments, and sub-contractors doing fly-by-night work. At some point in my nineteen years running this business, I have tried them all. That type of window business burns people out, on both sides of the deal. But, in the end, I have realized that the best way to run my company is to go "Back to the Basics" I sell only a few brands that I feel are backed by a solid warranty and offer features my clients are looking for. You can count on us for consistent and honest prices. I have the best technicians (from experience and better training) put in the replacement windows, and I sell them just like I was providing them to my mother, brother, or sister. Simple, quick, honest, easy.
I do business my way, with respect for the customer. I show up on time, give a short presentation (15 minutes is long), provide a formal written estimate, and if you decide to honor me with your business, you will have replacement windows in about 3 or 4 weeks. My life is simple now. Just the way your window sale should be. My name is Carl Tippit.
My company is Advanced Window. If you want to know more, send me a message, and I'll answer. Thanks.
